These unusual rotary powered car photos are provided
by Shorty's Racing. The car is a Toyota Starlet 1982. Shorty is from
Puerto Rico, where they like to make imports cars fly!! He put a 13b gtu
1991 rotary engine in, and makes his own motors This one is a
peripheral turbo, currently fuel injection (electromotive tec3r),
with a turbo II transmission; ACT clutch and 9 in Ford rear end with
35 spine axles. His best horse power is 398.6 at 16psi boost. Shorty and
his race team plan to make other modifications like a new in take, bigger
back housing on turbo (from .96 to 1.15 ar) and new exhaust pipe from
3" to 4". They are hoping to touch 500hp to 550hp at only 20psi
or a max of 24 psi boost. |

The car is a 1974 Mazda RX3 using a JC Cosmo 13B block built by Dyson
Rotary here in Australia, It uses 2mm RA seals with standard Mazda
springs,
The car is boosted by a Mr Turbo Billet 80mm Turbo &
runs 28psi of boost, The car has run a best ET of 8.82@151mph
using 26 x 8.5 x 15 Slicks on Leaf springs & no coil-overs, It does
not have any rear chassis mods. We use a G-Force 4-speed transmission
& Sunoco Racing Fuel. Next
step for the car is to start using the Nitrous.

| The four photos (above) are of
Sgt. Daniel Beighley's car, running RA seals and o ring kits. Daniel
is stationed in Japan but is returning to the US in the next few months
and is dismantling this beautiful car for shipment to the US. Dan
shows and races his RX-7 as often as his schedule allows. |

| 8/15/05: Jimmy's Lopez is using
"RA" apex seals in his 1988 Mazda B2200 truck, running a
supercharged 2 rotor engine. He is still in the
"experimenting" stage with this new combination They only had a
burnout before having an electrical problem, but still managed to see the
power as it moved this 2700 lb truck. Jimmy will keep us posted
after they make a full pass. |
