RD-1B Single Piece Prop Shaft

This shaft in the RD-1B. The RD-1C shaft is similar but has a different spline. The shaft is gun drilled to reduce weight without sacrificing strength. This photo was taken with the black oxide finish left after final heat treat and before the bearing races were polished.
