We are the ORIGINAL home of "RA" Classic and "RA" Super Seals (RA stands for "Rotary Aviation").

Our seals were developed in response to needs of street & track engine builders running over stock horsepower. Stock OEM seals are an excellent choice for "daily drivers" seeking maximum rotor housing life. The downside of OEM seals is that, when pushed beyond their limits, they fracture. The resulting shrapnel destroys expensive engine parts (rotors, housings, end housings).

When a car using RA seals experiences over boost and detonation (causing severe overheating), the typical failure mode of the seals is that the seal sags in the rotor groove. RA seals ALMOST never fracture (note that we are not claiming our seals to be unbreakable, but if a tip does break off our seals, it is under conditions dramatically beyond the conditions that cause fractures in OEM seals. RA seals do not cause the fracture debris that results in engine damage from OEM seals).

A side effect of the increased hardness of RA seals is that, under certain conditions, rotor housing wear is slightly higher than with OEM seals. However, the lack of catastrophic damage when the seals are overstressed, makes RA seals the better choice for high horsepower engines.

All serious competitors running rotary engines use pre-mix oil and fuel instead of the stock oil injection. This is what we recommend and the conditions under which we use the seals in aircraft and for all our seal testing.
