Click here for RWS Product Return Policy This drive uses a 6 pinion planet set (vs. the 4 pinion used in the RD-1A). See photo belowThe RD-2B drive is the latest version of our popular RD-1B drive. The RD-2B drive is designed to use any of the lightweight aftermarket racing flywheels (aluminum or steel) for the RX-7 or RX-8. These flywheels are produced by F1 Racing, ACT, Fidanza and others. The flywheel is paired with the automatic transmission counterweight that matches the engines series you are using (see Aviation FAQs for more details). The counterweights can be found on ebay or via a Google search. First flight testing of the RD-1B was done on February 25, 2001. Due to the similar construction and design of the already proven on our RD-1A drive (no longer available), we felt that a long flight test program before announcing the B version was not necessary. (A complete inspection of the drive was performed on 7/03/02, and everything looks perfect. This is after 250 hours of flight, including quite a bit of high speed testing. When the RVOtter was updated to the RD-1C drive, the RD-1B had 500 hours. A complete inspection showed no signs of wear or abnormalities).
Single part shaft used on all RD-1B and RD-1C drives This is the RD-1B 6 planet gear set.
