| Rotary Roundup - Bell, Florida October 27/28/29 2006 Accommodation and Commercial Flight Information Commercial Airline Information: Delta/ASA has flights from Atlanta, GA to Gainesville, FL on CRJ Regional Jets or ATR Turboprop planes. After the 1st couple flights of the day, they almost always run late, so plan that into your trip. Rental cars are available at the Gainesville airport. The drive from the airport to Bell, FL is about 1 hour . Gainesville is also served by turboprop by US Air from Charlotte, NC. You can also fly into Jacksonville, FL. Delta runs jet service between Atlanta and JAX. There are fewer flights but that are more reliable. Rental cars are available at the airport. JAX is also served by US Air and several other airlines. Jax is about 2 hours from Bell, FL. Orlando is 3.5 hours one way. Tampa is about 2.5 hours via the new Veteran's Expressway. Again, call or email for directions if you choose an alternate arrival city. Motels/Hotels There are MANY hotels/motels in Lake City, several of which are very new; and lots of places to eat. The "star" rating is my own, based on looking at the buildings from the outside only. There are also 2 motels at the intersection of Rt 441 and I-75 in Alachua, FL ( you'll need to check the web for information on those) FL (about 40 minutes away); one motel in High Springs that looks OK and several Bed and Breakfasts in High Springs (30 minutes away).
